Travel Grants

Travel grant application deadline: 04 March 2026

We're awarding Travel Grants to support members of the European Association for Cancer Research who need financial assistance to attend the Congress and present their work as an oral or poster presentation. Each EACR Travel Grant includes a free registration and funds to support travel and accommodation costs.

Eligibility

• You must have submitted an abstract on the Congress website. Please note there is a €30 abstract submission fee (plus VAT) to cover administration costs. It’s paid by card when you submit and is non-refundable, even if your abstract isn’t accepted.

• You must not pay your registration fee for the congress before applying for a travel grant. If you are awarded a travel grant, your registration will be free and we will arrange this for you. Travel Grants are targeted at members who, without additional funding, would not be able to attend the congress and as such, we will not award a travel grant to any applicant who has already paid their registration fee. Please consider your financial need before applying and demonstrate it in your application. 

You must also meet one of the criteria below:

• Student and Early Career EACR members with less than four years postdoctoral experience. Without exception, you must have been an EACR member for at least 30 days before the travel grant deadline. For new members, this means your membership payment must be received no later than 02 February 2026. Please allow time for your institute or company to make the payment if they are paying on your behalf, as this can cause delays.  Become an EACR member here.

• EACR members based in countries with a low- or middle-income economy. Click here and scroll down to see the current list on the World Bank website. You must have been an EACR member for at least 30 days before the travel grant deadline. For new members, this means your membership payment must be received no later than 02 February 2026. How to Apply

Eligible researchers can apply quickly and easily online through our Travel Grants application portal. 

1. Check your EACR membership status. This will be shown at the top of every EACR email newsletter or you can log in to the EACR website and visit this page: eacr.org/members. You must have been an EACR member for at least 30 days before the travel grant deadline. For new members, this means your membership payment must be received no later than 02 February 2026. Please allow time for your institute or company to make the payment if they are paying on your behalf, as this can cause delays. Become an EACR member here.
2. Make sure you submit an abstract for the EACR 2026 Congress on the Congress website before 23:59 CET on 04 March 2026.
3. You need to be logged in to your EACR website account to access the portal. Click here to log in to your EACR account: this will open in a new browser tab. If you don't remember your password, click 'Forgotten your password?' at the bottom of the page to reset it. 
4. After logging in, come back to this page and click here to access the Travel Grants application portal. Only researchers who meet the above eligibility criteria will be able to access the portal. If you can't access the portal but you believe you are eligible, please contact our membership team. 
5. Complete each section of the online form and upload your supervisor's letter of support. 
6. After clicking 'Save and submit' you will be able to view and edit your application using this link at any time until the deadline.
